How the Air-Pots work:
In order to grow well, plants need healthy roots.
It is necessary to know that the classic pots and containers deform the roots, which is detrimental to the good growth and well-being of the plant.
The Air-Pot system favors the vitality of the plant thanks to its patented technology and thus preserves the root system.
Air Pot air pot allows to obtain an excellent fibrous root mass. The roots breathe
Your plant will be able to better absorb nutrients and water, which will avoid deficiencies, and thus promote the proper development of the plant.
Can be used in indoor and outdoor. Perfect to put in a growing room.
Perfect for a grow room and indoor growing. Used with the platinium potting soil for example.
Technical characteristics Air-Pot :
The Air-Pots are constituted by original walls with closed cones inside and open cones outside. There are no flat surfaces inside the container for the roots to start a process of growth. The cones inside lead the roots to the open cones outside where the high density of air, dehydrates the tips or, in other words, cuts them off (air-pruning).
Stimulated by the air at the tip, the root develops a dense system with a large number of young and active roots. The porosity of theAir-Pot creates better conditions for bacteriological activity which increases the nutrients available to the plant. With so many young roots to capture the available water and nutrients, plant vigor and health are guaranteed.
Air-Pot is a recycled and reusable plastic container that thanks to its design actively develops the quality of the plants' root system. This revolutionary method of growing in a pot produces an exceptional root system, without bunting. This is impossible to achieve with other containers.
Made of recycled HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), Air-Pot is circular in shape, with a 3D perforated wall, like an egg box. It does not have a flat surface to deform the roots and start the bunting. The roots are directed to the air holes at the end of the cones, where the high air density dehydrates the tip or, in other words, cuts it (air-pruning). The plant's response to this air-pruning process is the formation of more roots. Thus plants develop a dense, fibrous and radial root system very quickly. To boost your roots, think of the fertilizers of Platinium.
Air-Pot can be manufactured in various sizes, heights and can be used as a complete container with or without base. The recent introduction of an improved Air-Pot design, which improves the strength of the container when assembled through the cross-section of the wall, also gives a reduction in assembly time.
The advantages of using Air-Pots are:
Advantages full description:
Elimination of root bunting. The 3D design of theAir-Pot 's wall cones and the continuous circling by the air avoids root banding.
Reduced cultivation time in nurseries. The rapid development of young roots that form and colonize the root ball ensures faster growth than in standard nursery containers. Plants are ready for sale much faster.
Possibility to store plants at least twice as long in the same container thanks to Air-Pot. This fact gives a very important advantage not only to the nurseries, but also to the garden centers, where the stock of plants remains sometimes until the next season, and for the landscapers whose original work program is often delayed for various reasons. As long as the water and nutrient requirements are met, the root structure will only improve from one season to the next.
Better reaction of the plant in extreme climatic conditions. Continuous air circulation always gives new roots, especially at the base of the trunk. The root tissue is not only more efficient in absorbing water and nutrients available in the soil, but it is also less vulnerable to extreme cold and heat. In a conventional container, the entire root mass is against the wall and is more sensitive to weather conditions.
Remarkable reduction of losses. Immediate recovery after transplanting means that losses are greatly reduced and therefore the quality of the nursery stock becomes a selling point and a guarantee for the customer.
Simplified production. The stock of young plants can be directly transplanted in containers of 30/50/80 liters, by reducing the repotting. In the United States plants are grown for 4 years in the same pot. In Australia the growing times for some species have been reduced by about half. In the United Kingdom, ongoing trials show a significant reduction in growth times.
Use the Air-Pots indoors. Air-Pots can be used with or without a base. Ideally, when using Air-Pots without a base you should use the Fielder Superoots fabric under the root ball. Alternatively, treated plastic film or above ground fabric can be used. The Air-Pot container must be assembled so that the perforated cones point outwards. This way, the closed cones on the inside force the roots to go towards the air holes at the end of the root.
The containers can be made in any diameter and height, the container adapts to the root ball and not the other way around. The roots that grow sideways are constantly surrounded, rooting downwards is not a problem. The root structure of the plants grown in Air-Pot allows to move the plants after two months without risk of losing the substrate and deforming the root ball.
