AQUAEL was established in the 80s. It was a time when aquarium keeping was very popular in Poland and there was a constant lack of aquarium accessories on the market. Under these conditions, in the autumn of 1983 Mr. Janusz Jankiewicz - a young graduate of the Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology - registered a private company and assembled the first 30 air pumps of his own design on a kitchen table in a rented apartment in the Warsaw district of Praga.
