The 'e' in 'e-series' represents the external temperature controller. Indeed this system Gavita 600W system can be controlled centrally by a temperature controller Gavita Master controller, available as an option. It will replace the often tedious and cumbersome installation, and adds safety features such as automatic dimming of your high temperature lights and even a safety shutdown.
The ballast output can either be controlled by a Gavita Master controller or by an external switch, allowing it to be adjusted to 300, 400, 500, 600 or 660W. The high frequency ballast is specifically designed for HPS lamps and is not suitable for metal halide (MH) lamps.
Using the Master controller will protect your crop with the added auto-dim and auto-cut features to fully automate your light control.
