Why fertilizers Advanced Nutrients were no longer sold in France?
In 2012, the fertilizers Advanced Nutrientsin 2012, fertilizers, as well as various products of other brands, were withdrawn from all the catalogs of French distributors and commercial sites due to their non-conformity with the applicable French or European standards (nutrient content lower than the authorized minima, elements/substances not authorized by the standard, non-compliance with the obligations of marketing, non-compliance with the obligations of marking/labeling), revealed following several controls carried out by the DDPP in stores of various brands in the territory.
Indeed, any product put on the market in France must respect the existing standards, mainly in terms of composition and labeling.
If the composition of a product does not allow to claim an existing standard, the French law requires that it be evaluated in terms of effectiveness, harmfulness, stability etc. by the official authorities before being put on the market. To do this, the manufacturer must submit an approval file in order to obtain an AMM (authorization to market) or APV (provisional authorization to sell). This is the case for all the micro-organisms, vitamins, stimulators, humic acids, sugars, enzymes, etc. that make up the Advanced Nutrients. But these files are considered expensive and their study long.
At this period, for the same reasons, many brands such as Hydrogarden, Metropgreen Hope or Dutch Pro were banned from selling some of their products in France. You could see then gradually return some of these fertilizers at Culture Indoor, as the brand Aptus, after a time of absence devoted by the manufacturers to the compliance of their products, in collaboration with their French distributor CIS.
At the beginning of 2020, the products of the brand Advanced Nutrients brand products have recently been sold again by some retailers in France Advanced Nutrients however, CIS has changed its distribution system and no longer goes through its former national distributors, which requires each retailer to take legal responsibility for the product it imports and sells, and to set up, maintain and bear the costs of compliance files (regulatory analyses, etc.) in its own name, assuming any legal consequences in the event of noncompliance of a product thus put on the market.
