Hydroponic growing medium par excellence, used in professional horticulture (cheap, reusable and sterile), rockwool is the substrate that has long proven its worth:
- Optimal oxygenation at root level;
- Good water and nutrient retention;
- Anti rotting property;
- Avoid transplanting shocks (the cubes fit together).
Nevertheless, rockwool requires some precautions of use, especially in the dry state. Wearing a mask and gloves is recommended since it is irritating to the skin and respiratory tract. Wet, it remains harmless.
