The glue strips allow you to monitor possible insect infestations around the trunk of trees, such as cheimatobies, caterpillars, ants, earwigs. They adapt to all types of bark and do not stick to the fingers.
Make sure that no branch of the tree touches a wall or another unprotected tree: the insects would quickly find this other way of access.
To use: Cut a small strip of scratch tie (1 cm wide) to use as a tie to join the two ends of the foam strip.
Cut enough foam to go around the trunk. Position the foam strip about 1 meter above the ground, wrapping it tightly around the trunk. It is important not to leave any gaps that would allow insects to pass through.
Apply the cut-out scratch tie to bind the two ends of the foam strip.
Place the glue strip against the foam (sticky side of the strip towards the outside). Unroll the tape, pressing it as tightly as possible against the foam to form the most impenetrable barrier possible for insects.
Allow for several centimeters of overlap before cutting the strip to ensure that the trap remains in place.
Regularly check that the glue strip is well maintained around the trunk and make sure that no element (debris, plants, insects in too large numbers...) can facilitate the progression of the insects.
Change the tape if the number of stuck insects is too important and allows the passage of new insects or if the tape is no longer sticky (about 3 to 5 weeks, depending on weather conditions).
