TOMATO San Marzano

Lycopersicon esculentum L.

Description Originally from the foothills of the Andes, the tomato -Lycopersicon esculentum Lwas introduced in vegetable gardens in the 18th century in France

The San Marzano is red, oblong (9 cm long), and very firm with a weight of 100 g, it is appreciated for its taste and sweetness

Vigorous and very productive variety.

Soil preparation Choose potash-rich and fresh soil

Smoke your soil in autumn

Sunny exposure

Regular watering.

Sowing february to May, 1 cm deep, in a terrine. 8 weeks after sowing, transplant the seedlings by burying them 2 cm below the collar

Install stakes before planting

Planting density: 45 x 75 cm

Emergence in 8 to 10 days in soil at 18°C.

Harvesting july to end of October

This variety can be grown in pots (30 cm diameter), in clay-enriched soil.
