ARTICHAUT Imperial star
Cynara scolymus L.
Description
The artichoke Imperial Star is a round apple. Plant of 1,5 m of height and 1 m broad, it is perennial and early. Its flavor is mild to slightly sweet.
Cultivation Practice
Grow in cool, humus-rich, draining soil. The plants produce 3 to 4 artichokes the 1st year and 6 to 8 the following years.
Sowing: in a bucket, transplant 2 months later at 80 cm between plants.
Emergence: in 12 days in soil at 20°C.
