Cultivation practice
Annual or biennial plant, native to Persia.
Spinach is cultivated in Europe (via Spain since the Middle Ages).
It requires a soil rich in organic matter (well fumé). It is necessary that it has neither too much water, nor too little.
For spring and autumn sowing, choose a light and healthy soil.
For those of winter, prefer a fresh and shaded ground.
Sow in place, water regularly, and thin to 6-7 cm.
Think of spreading out your sowings, in order to have regular harvests!
Sow in place from July to September for winter harvests.
For spring harvests sow in February and March.
